Cafetos de Segovia is a dry mill located in Ocotal and surrounded by coffee land, making it easy for producers to deliver the wet parchment the same day as they harvest and process it.
In 2015, a local producer family realised that the prices paid for coffee cherries in the region were too low and that they could produce high-quality coffee on their own farm. They decided to create a dry mill to add value to their product, and that mill is now run by sisters Martha and Ana, along with their team.
Coffee is grown at Cafetos de Segovia in an eco-friendly way. RFA standards are implemented on the farm. Coffee trees are pruned regularly and stringent shade management is carried out in order to improve the infiltration of light in the farm.
For the collection of coffee, only the ripe beans are collected. Meaning lots are submitted to the national Cup of Excellence every year, and always ranks highly.

This lot has been produced in an area of sustainable development known as a biosphere reserve. Globally, these reserves positively impact millions of lives.
This coffee is beautifully sweet with notes of milk chocolate, peanut brittle and fig.
Sierra de Las Minas is the largest mountain range in eastern Guatemala. Composed of desert, pine forest, and Guatemala’s largest cloud forest, this region was declared a biosphere reserve in 1990 and is home to the national bird, the quetzal. Stretching from 150 to 3,010 metres in altitude, the mountain range spans 242 hectares and is home to 250,000 people, 222 communities, 63 rivers, and accounts for five of Guatemala’s 22 departments.

Marcelino discovered a new varietal of coffee tree on his land and as this new varietal was totally unique to his own farm, he decided to name it “Marshell” after himself.

Don Marcelino Chinguel has been growing coffee for most of his life, well over forty years! But he is still constantly looking to explore and challenge his own way of thinking. This very rare lot represents that spirit.
This is the first lot of the Marshell variety produced of which Marcelino planted in 2018.
Marcelino lives with his family on the La Lucuma farm where they take care of most of the work but also employ up to eight pickers during the harvest. This is very much a family operated business with workload in specific areas being shared among family members. Marcelino takes care of the administration and sales duties, his wife manages the post-harvest protocols, Franclin, his eldest son is in charge of picking, and his youngest son Yocner oversees quality control.

A competition winning coffee for good reason. Our latest washed Colombian is a coffee that you must afford yourself a moment to sit back and appreciate the effort that went into producing such an excellent cup.
This coffee is nothing short of exceptional, expect notes of Dark Muscovado, Orchard Fruits, Red Berries and Fig.

The Copa de Occidente is a competition which showcases the very finest coffees from the best growers within the Huila region. 42 producers entered last year’s competition and we were lucky enough to have secured one of the winning coffees.
Boris Andres Molina Urriago’s entry into the Copa de Occidente was a humble one in comparison with many of the other competitors. A combintation of Caturra and Castillo, two of the most classic Colombian varieties, processed with a washed method. On paper, this coffee shouldn’t be outstanding but it is. It is bursting with fruit flavour and bright berry notes. Boris was the only member of the La Flora community group to win a top ten place in Osito’s first ever Western Huila Cup competition – Copa de Occidente. Eduar Moriones, the manager of the La Flora group helps producers like Boris to get the most from their coffees and that was clearly the case in the competition.

One of our favourite iced coffee methods was originally introduced by Tim Wendelboe a number of years ago. It`s incredibly easy and fast. You can use quite literally any filter brewer you have to hand, even your trusty old French press will do the job.
We recommend using a pinch of sugar as it really lifts the flavours... but this, of course, is completely personal preference.
Give it a go 🤍
Method:-
1. Brew 500ml using your favourite brewer
2. Decant into a heat proof bottle
3. Place in an ice bath
4. Leave to cool for 15 minutes
5. Pour over ice
6. Hit play on your Walkman

Make a simple syrup by dissolving sugar in boiling water then adding raspberries to infuse their amazing flavour. Strain the raspberry fixture carefully to avoid a cloudy syrup.
Add a large splash of raspberry syrup to a pre chilled glass with ice then add Tonic. We used @artisandrinksco Agave Lemon Tonic 🍋
Add a cooled double shot of espresso, topping off with chunks of lemon and a few raspberries.
So so good. Summer in a glass 🌞

Their modern take on the classic French Press or cafetiere offers a simple and elegant brewer capable of making between 1 or 2 cups of filter coffee.
